The day started late, after tending to many details of life -- backing up computer, packing items to send back to Whidbey, e-mailing friends and family, testing out the pack, and saying goodbye to mom. I walked only 9 miles but started late, and even then, walked for a spell with my "street lamp" being the full moon.
I crossed several streams all still with water. The trail is well marked and if you get lost in the first 20 miles (like the literature suggests happens), I'd suggest going to Disney Land instead.
