Recycled wood from Bellingham waterfront

Recycling means you buy it when you see it. There's not yet a use for this wood but the opportunity presented itself and it was impossible to ignore. And, the BAPOW, (my nickname for a big piece of amazing wood) in the bed of the truck is huge. It took four big strong guys using 4x4 timbers and blocks to pick it and slide it into the truck's bed. Backing the truck up against a pile of wood was how we scooted it in, that and an extension socket (friction reducer!)

Brad's old Nissan was called the wonder truck for the impossibly huge loads it carried but I think this truck is doing its best to capture the title. The 4x4's, virtually clear Doug fir from the 30's? is stunning and each piece is about 50lbs. That's 1500 on the rack. The Large piece is estimated at 1200-1500lbs. The truck did great with this load and still gets the same mileage as the old 4x4 Nissan!
