The Fredley Project

This 860 square feet home, in three buildings, was designed for my parents.  They requested separate buildings, extensive use of recycled materials, taking full advantage of solar, and a strong relationship between indoors and out.

We planned, from the early stages of design, a system to capture the roof water, directing it to a stream and pond, with overflow into a wetland created for aquifer recharge.  At the earliest design stages the home’s relationship to the land and the future garden was fully considered.
